We hope you and your team have had a safe and successful year so far. We come to you with the latest news on relief funding for indie venues.
A bill (S2800/A4233) was recently introduced to support New Jersey's creative industries - both nonprofit and for-profit arts and cultural organizations - with $70 million of federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds still available to the State of New Jersey.
Cultural organizations were among the very first to close and the last to reopen when pandemic restrictions eased. Many continue to struggle financially, and earlier funding has long since expired.
Funds will:
Provide grants to nonprofit and for-profit arts and cultural organizations through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)
Support arts education programs and creative placemaking projects throughout the state
Please ask your NJ state legislators (NJ Assembly & NJ Senate) to co-sponsor and support this bill by sending a pre-written email through ArtPride New Jersey, linked here. You can also write your own email via the same link.
