The Small Business Administration announced today that the SVOG application will open on April 8, 2021.
In addition, the SBA has launched a dedicated portal for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant that links to all the guidance documents. Click here to view the portal. This is the portal that SBA will use for applications. Applications for SVOG WILL NOT be processed through lenders. You must apply directly to the SBA.
Prior to the official SVOG application opening, the SBA will host a national informational webinar to highlight the application process for potential eligible entities from 2:30 to 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Those interested in participating can register here.
Sign up through the portal to get updates on when the application opens. We urge you to bookmark the portal link and check back frequently for updates. In the next several weeks, the SBA will release updates to the portal, including the ability to create an account and submit an SVOG application. As the updates are made, you will receive email alerts with short summaries of additional functions and user capabilities.
As a reminder, to apply for the SVOG you must have an active registration in federal government’s System for Award Management (also known as SAM.gov). Visit www.sba.gov/svogrant for a link to a video tutorial about getting registered in SAM.gov and more information on the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program. NJIVA will also share updates with associates as they come through.
In this post, NJIVA does not give any legal advice, nor does it indicate any best practices that will assure success in any government-run programs. NJIVA merely provides the best available information at the time of writing.
