New updates have been highlighted along with a summary of previously posted information. Please know that there are still no official rules or procedures in place, and there is a variety of conflicting information floating around. We will not furnish information here until we know it is official.
Please read the SOS Act (Shuttered Venue Operators Grant) summary HERE.
The SBA did an initial webinar on the grant program, it is very brief and has only limited information. Here’s a link to the video. One resource they provided was an email, SVOGrant@sba.gov to which people can address questions. NOTE: One big error is that they apply a “50 Employee” limit on the priority periods. This is NOT the case, and has been corrected on their website.
What do I need to do to get ready to apply?
We don’t know for sure, but here’s what we strongly recommend you have ready:
1. Your 2020 and 2019 financials
2. Your 2019 tax returns
3. Your DUNS number (what’s this?)
- Look up your DUNS number HERE.
- Support for DUNS questions: https://support.dnb.com/?CUST=GOVTDUNS
4. Active SAMS account (what’s this?) with CAGE Code assignment.
- If you do not have a CAGE Code, you will be assigned one during the SAMS registration process.
- HERE is a slide show that provides a lot of helpful info about this SAMS.
5. REGISTER for an account at Grants.Gov. This only takes a few minutes, but you will need the following handy:
- Your DUNS #, SAMS account info, and EIN number.
- Create a profile, get a new login.
- Affirm your profile, then go back in and update your profile, and associate organizations with your profile ("manage profiles").
- You will receive a UEI number (this is your DUNs number with more numbers after it).
Can we APPLY for both PPP and SVO?: UPDATE: NO. You may not APPLY for both. Until recently, this was phrased as “you cannot RECEIVE” both. We are told this rule is being clarified to “you cannot APPLY for both”
RESOURCES FOR NIVA MEMBERS:
Your State Outreach Coordinator: A Regional or State Outreach Coordinator is a person in your area who can help point you in the right direction for answers and/or resources regarding the SVOG. They know the act well, and have been gathering information about resources that may help you locally. For New Jersey, this is NJIVA! Please email us at newjerseyiva@gmail.com with your questions. PLEASE NOTE: NJIVA cannot give advice about your business or any guidance on applying, just accurate information on the grant as we receive it.
