Dear NJIVA Associate or Venue:
As you know, State relief in the form of $15 million in federal CARES Act funds was approved in early April for arts and culture live performance venues around New Jersey.
We now have word from the Governor's Office that the for-profit application for funding is expected to be before the NJ Economic Development Authority board in July. The application should be going live that month as well.
The application process for nonprofits (headed by the New Jersey Council on the Arts) is already open. Awards will be voted on in late July by the Council and issued in September/October.
We are looking to increase press coverage of the plight of New Jersey's indie venues. If you have contacts and would like to assist, please feel free to reach out to scully@hopewelltheater.com to bring attention to this important matter.
Stay tuned to our emails, blogs, and social media for news about the status of State relief funds.
In Solidarity,
Sara Scully
